Being pleasant pays off.

Today I went Ulta to pick up a travel size of my favorite scrub for vacation and just have a quick look for a face scrub in a travel size. While there, I decided to seek help from a pro on choosing the perfect benefit foundation for my complexion. I didn’t think the one I had was right but it seems it was.

The girl at the Benefit counter who was helping me was Krista Kammerzell, the current Miss Redmond and is competing in Miss USA next year, awesome! She is such a kind person so I’m hoping she has all the success she deserves. But we decided that the sample I currently have is the correct one for me (since I’ve had some exposure to sun recently and have a mini tan).

We got to chatting with another employee and both of them really made my day. I say being pleasant pays off because she gave me two extra samples of the makeup (said she wanted me to really try it and not run out), 3 samples of the Stay Put primer as well as two samples of the Benefit perfume Laugh with me Lee Lee.

When I was in my teens, people who weren’t really a friend and didn’t know me well thought I was a bitch. No I won’t censor that because they didn’t use another word. Those who know me, know I’m not, and I don’t try to be. I was just very reserved and believed in keeping my circle tight. I’ve gotten older and I had to open up in order to make friends away from home. It wasn’t easy and I try not to be as reserved when I’m in uncomfortable situations but I’ve learned to just smile and carry on a conversation.

Because of those two ladies, and also the fact that that is the only Ulta close to me, I feel like this is my go-to store. I know I can get help because of the friendly staff and they have my best interest at heart.

So let your guard down and smile, you may make someone’s day and they may treat you extra special and make yours.
