I grew up wearing silver. It’s only within the last two years that I started wearing anything with gold. I was even biased to the hardware on belts and bags. But I’ve embraced it and now I wear it as best as I could. On Saturday we went out to brunch with some friends. After, I was on a call for 2 hours so the sun had set by the time I could take pictures. You know this blog is a work in progress so let me apologize for the quality of the pics now. I wanted to get the ball rolling on outfit of the day posts so I’m still posting these.
- Sorry this pic is so blurry 😦 it’s the only one.

Thank you! I’m loving them too 😉
I know what you mean; all the Black and Asian girls I knew growing up (me included) preferred Silver over Gold coloured jewellery and then later we starting liking Gold lol. I don’t know why but I think sub-consciously as a collective we associated Gold with old, traditional things – and the older women of our communities/cultures. Like the the mindset “you can always trust auntie to have Gold”. We weren’t rebellious but just saw ourselves are more ‘forward/modern’ and then somehow grew up later on and realized Gold is very nice too lol.
It is nice! My parents wore silver and they just passed it down to my sister and I. They somehow convinced us it was better lol. Now in our late 20s, my sister and I are embracing it.
