Last week was a rough week. So rough that I started this post and never got a chance to do the final edit and post. But here it is!
My purchases were mostly clothes. I only made a few cosmetic purchases and it included all of the eyeliners from the Naked collection by Urban Decay and the Naked3 palette :). It is already out of stock so make sure you sign up to know when it’s coming out so that you can get yours.
Nasty Gal had a sale on top of a sale early last week week or so and I figured it was a good time to stock up on a few dresses if anything. I like to shop here when I’m looking for something out of my box – be it colour-wise or style. I bought three dresses, all mint coloured. I only realized after but two are definitely styles that I wouldn’t normally go for.
I chose this dress because I wanted to be more daring. I don’t have a huge chest so I can get away with wearing this and no bra and it looks like the perfect dress to throw on on vacation.
I always thought this trumpet hem was not for me. I have a bit of a behind and I didn’t want to look trashy wearing this kind of hem. But then I saw Porsha on the Real Housewives of Atlanta wearing one and she has a butt as well so I figured why not. Plus my friend told me I should wear it because of my bubble butt lol.
One of the main reasons I went to the sale was to see if the had any sweater dresses with sleeves that I can wear for the Christmas season. Let’s be honest, shaving the underarms constantly during winter sometimes is a bit of a drag with all the sweaters etc that you’re wearing. So it’s nice to pull out a dress that isn’t sleeveless to wear. This is a point because I’ve been having trouble finding short sleeve dresses of a heavier material. I can find sleeveless, 3/4 sleeves or long sleeves but not many short sleeves.
I returned a coat this week because I went to put it on and it was…. the behind was kicking it out toooooo much at the back and then the top was just all puffy and weird. I don’t know why I didn’t spot this when I bought it in September but I really didn’t like the fit. It had a hood and I loved that but I’d take a coat without a hood for a better fit any day. And along came this beauty. I swear it looks so much better in person and on me (hehehe). It made me want to go but a ton of turtleneck tops and just wear it with black tights and knee-high boots. I don’t really fancy turtleneck tops but I’d wear them just for the look with this coat. I also loved the ribbed sleeves. That hole on her hand is for the thumb to go through. When I tell you I fell in love!!!! Can’t wait to wear it. I will definitely be doing an outfit post for it.
Finally, I’ve been searching for a hat since I cut my hair. I had to return my BCBG hat with the ears because the short hair was not making it cute – at all! All the beanies I’ve been seeing are slouchy but I wanted one that wasn’t. I picked up this little number in Express and the slouch was actually cute with my short hair because it wasn’t too full. I also chose this because if I’d spent $150 I’d get $50 off. So it went like this: the coat was $138 on sale, I found the hat, got the $50 off and paid $119 after tax for the two. Umm, YES!!
I also bought a skirt from the Loft but I exchanged it for a sweater. I need more of those right now. 🙂 I’m off to London this week and so I’ll try to keep the posts coming. If not, I’m sure I’ll have some kind of haul video up for you.
There’s still a giveaway to enter!! Go enter if you haven’t as yet and share with others!
