Let’s admit it – besides celebrities, magazines are our major source of fashion inspiration. Some have stuff we can only dream about owning (and let’s be real, you have to really have that eye for art to pull inspiration from them) and others actually help us to find good deals or find new places to shop within our budget – the latter are what I’m interested in. I’m very on and off with magazine subscriptions – some I can’t wait to get, and then after a while I couldn’t be bothered if I see it again and others I must have as the new issue is out. I get the most inspiration from the following:
I know the Nordstrom catalogue isn’t exactly a magazine but I draw huge inspiration from it. All of the above magazines always have a section that caters to the low end and the high end of budgets. Even if you can’t afford to purchase a whole outfit, you can find ideas for putting together outfits from items you already have that you may have been wondering how to work into an outfit.
The good thing about technology is that some of these magazines can be downloaded onto your iPad/E-reader or even mobile phone, so you have constant access without lugging around magazines. I know their print subscribers aren’t as numerous as they were before but who doesn’t love going through a magazine and ripping out papers with the intention of doing an inspiration board even if you don’t do it? LOL I know I’m not the only one! I get even more excited when they fall out from the pile and immediately I want to try the look or see if one item gives me some idea of an outfit to wear for the day or during the week.
I’m going to try my best to keep the posts coming, I have family visiting for the next 3 weeks so please bear with me. I’ve also gotten some amazing finds recently that I can’t wait to share with you. 🙂
Until next time…
