My friend posted this ecard above and it had me cackling. As funny as it is, it’s also something I wish people would practice.
This morning I did a smoothie and thought I’d share it with you if you’re in the process or trying to maintain your summer body. I think I’ve shared my smoothies before but I’ve changed my liquid ingredient and I actually took pictures of everything this time. I use my Nutribullet to do it and I use frozen peaches to make it cold instead of using ice. One suggestion I’d make when using the Nutribullet is to put your frozen items to the bottom when filling it and softer items closer to the top. This helps it to blend smoother. I use spinach and kale because I’m anemic and this is a way for me to incorporate dark veggies into my diet that I don’t like to eat. I also take iron supplements so if you need to do the same, this is a tasty way of including it and consuming the veg raw without having to cook it. Since I came back and it’s been so warm I’ve also been consuming more fruit and choosing it over a piece of chocolate or another snack. Not that I’ve not been eating other snacks… no no no! I’ve just been eating less :).
Ingredients:
1 banana
6/7 peach slices
3 strawberries
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 cup baby spinach
1/2 cup baby kale
