Clarisonic Mia 2

At the end of March I ordered the Clarisonic Passion Fruit Mia 2 gift set. I’d been contemplating getting one for quite some time but I often found the price a little steep for a skin care product. It was the transition from Winter to Spring causing an extra shiny forehead and mini-breakouts that made me take the plunge. But since I was spending $150, I searched the internet for a coupon or to see what deals were available before purchasing this product. I chose this one for several reasons:

  • It was a bright colour that I liked (necessary as I’m a visual person and I hopefully won’t leave it behind when I travel).
  • It came with a travel case (also a bright colour not the regular white).
  • A bonus bag.

I used a promotion code and received three 1oz samples of the Refreshing Gel, Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser (perfect to take on trips). Unfortunately I don’t remember what code it was but you can check RetailMeNot for one. I realized after that they did free personal engraving, if I’d seen that before, I would’ve definitely gotten it done. It took 7 days for me to receive it. I would’ve purchased this from Sephora for points but I got exactly what I wanted from the Clarisonic site and it wasn’t offered by Sephora.

I was quite pleased with the size, and the colour was even better in person. It’s very lightweight and the charge lasted just over a week. It’s supposed to last for 24 minutes every charge, using it twice a day. I used it the same night I received it and my skin instantly felt softer. It’s been 12 days and I’ve had 2 or 3 pimples pop up that I’m assuming are from my skin going through the breakout period before it gets better. Through it all, it’s remained very soft. You don’t have to use their cleanser but I’ve been using it just to see how it works. I like it but I’m not going to purchase it. Twice I used my own.

Since I received it, I didn’t use the brush twice and my face maintained it’s softness until the next time I used it. I actually felt like I wasn’t cleaning my skin properly when I didn’t use it. What I did find hard to adjust to was the timer. You’re supposed to do 20 seconds on your forehead, 20 seconds on your nose and chin and 10 seconds on each cheek. It was hard because I wasn’t counting and just waiting for the vibration to tell me when to move on so I was spending too much time in one area. I’ve adjusted now and I’ve gotten better with it.

One night, I used a pore cleansing mask after using the Clarisonic, and the next morning my skin felt baby butt soft. I think I’m going to do that once a week, and switch up the masks according to how my skin is doing. I’ve been weary of using scrubs since the Clarisonic exfoliates well but I’ll just use the scrub when I don’t use the brush.

The Clarisonic is also supposed to help with oiliness. I think it is working because at night when I use my night cream, I’m not as oily in the morning. I look like I’m ready to fry an egg on my forehead most mornings. During this transition season, my t-zone is in overdrive with oiliness and I think it is the moisturizer I’m using that isn’t helping and making me very shiny during the day.

So far, I’m really happy with mine and I look forward to seeing how my skin looks and feels after a month. If you’re looking to get one, I’d highly recommend it. It is perfect for all ages.
