When we moved into our apartment building last Summer, I knew this would be a wonderful experience. And it definitely has been. I was aware of resident events, but tonight just made me love this building even more. The staff, the location, the apartment – amazing!
Last night I went to the Red Door Spa for an evening hosted by our building to sample a few services, namely express facials, polish changes and massages. We also got a tour of the spa and were treated to wine, cupcakes and hors d’oeuvres. We were also given a gift bag and received 20% off our next service if we booked one the same night. I booked a facial that I will get before we go on vacation. I managed to get an express facial, and polish changes on my fingers and toes. For my facial, she used the following products from the Purifying line:
- Purifying Cleanser
- Purifying Toner
- Lemon Burst Exfoliator
- Clay Mask
- Purifying Moisturizer
- Illuminating Vitamin C
I also received this valuable information: when applying products work from light to heavy. Therefore, your routine should go in the following order:
Day & Night: cleanse → tone → exfoliate (max 2-3 times a week, day or night is your choice) → serum (can be used either during the day or at night or both – your choice, also Vit C is preferred and best at night) → Moisturize (with SPF during the day, a heavier cream at night, minus the SPF to replenish the skin).
After cleansing and toning, a lemon burst exfoliator was used and then a clay mask applied specifically to my oily areas to help detox the skin.
I also had the sweetest lady do my nails! We ended up speaking Spanish! Well Spanglish for me as it’s been years since I used it and I didn’t do too bad especially after one glass of wine. It was so much fun!!
As I said, I have facial booked but I’ll definitely be returning with my husband as he likes to go to spas as well. I told him it was just as nice and a tad bit nicer than the spa we go to (Yuan Spa – our favorite spa right now) and he said he has to check it out. He just cracks me up sometimes. We have a resident brunch in two weeks that I’m also looking forward to. I just love this building! It will definitely be a hard day when the time comes for us to leave.
It’s good to treat yourself and your skin to treatments every now and then as they can be pricey if you try to do them every month/bi-monthly. I have changed up my skin care routine for Spring/Summer already and it’s just in time for the warm weather we will be having and our travels.
With that said, if you want to do something this Summer treat yourself to a spa treatment or package. Nothing beats a day of being pampered :).
